Did you miss me????
Hey everyone! Did you miss me???
Well looks like my one post a month has turned into one post every two months :P Lets see if I can post a little more regularly now that I am not traveling around so much!
So it is now 10 days in quarter 2 of my term! Wow, how that first quarter flew by! In one quarter my team and I managed to survive running two conferences/forums, attending IC, coordinating recruitment/induction, doing director/linking visits, and facilitating more exchanges in a single quarter than we have done in 5 years... all well only having a period of about 2-3 weeks in the office when our internet and network was actually working!!! I am very impressed with my team. Despite the chaos which was quarter 1 they remained cool, calm and collected, met their challenges head-on with determination, and are rearing to go for quarter 2!
But enough of talking about work, because I am sure for some of you, you hear me talking about work far tooooo much! Hahaha...
Personally the past few months have been amazing. One of the definate highlights had to be attending IC in India. I am really glad I at least got a few days in Delhi beforehand to see some of the sites and do some shopping. The embarrasing thing is I think I bought more than any of the girls during our shopping day in Delhi!!! Was also really cool checking out some of the temples, the Indian gate, and other sites. And the IC venue was really awesome.
But what I really shocking is I traveled all the way to Agra, and didnt even visit the Taj Mahal!!! My first opportunity to visit the Taj was at the beginning of conference with my team. But after a night in a German room party I decided against it! My second opportunity came during my last day in Agra, but being so tired I slept in and woke up only in time to catch my bus back to Delhi. So I have unfinished business in Agra so will have to go back someday, and explore more.
Apart from my journey to India I had an awesome time at our last national conference, NZLDS. Having just over a week to prepare before heading to Hamilton after IC it was tight, but we still managed to do a kick arse conference (any kiwi want to second that?). On a personal note it was also great working with Trevor Chin again, who was chair for the conference. The last time me and Trev were on a team together was when he was LCP Waikato 01-02 and I was on the EB. (01-02.... I know.... thats scary considering its 05-06! hahaha).
Well I must be leaving you now, but stayed tuned for more (and I promise it wont be another two months!!!!)
